St Austell Torchlight Carnival Day
Marking the beginning of winter, a One Day celebration in the China Clay Capital of Cornwall.
St. Austell comes alive for the celebrations with a whole day of entertainment throughout the town, with live bands, stalls, music and dance and as it gets darker, the tremendous spectacle of the Torchlight Carnival parades through the town.
This year's all-day entertainment in White River Place's Aylmer Square with the team from Radio St Austell Bay starting off the entertainment and keeping the music flowing around these acts :

Carnival entries assemble for judging from 4.30 pm at John Keay House and the procession moves off at 6pm, making its way down through the town to the One Stop Shop for presentation of prizes. The carnival attracts over 1000 people to join in the procession and continues to get be bigger, brighter and better every year. Spectacular lanterns, samba bands and colourful floats make this a day to remember.

Lantern Making Workshops !!
Thanks to Sian Hill and her wonderful Ways With Willow and those lovely people in the Eden Café, we are once again offering free lantern making workshops as follows:
Eden Café, White River Place 10.00 am – 3pm
Everyone is welcome to come along and create your own lantern for the carnival procession absolutely free of charge
