Green Tourism in the Cornish Riviera

At the St Austell Tourist Information Centre, we are dedicated to helping tourists and locals alike enjoy the area, while also minimising the impact on our local environment. We're proud to be a Bronze member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme!

This is the only certification scheme in the UK endorsed by all of Britain's Tourist Boards. There are over 2,300 GTBS members through the UK and Ireland.  It has been validated by the International Centre for Responsible Tourism since 2008. 

Businesses opting to join Green Tourism are assessed by a qualified environmental advisor against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and more.

You Can Be Green Too!

St Austell and the surrounding area is great for exploring without a car - whether by cycle, foot, bus or train, the countryside and towns are easily accessible. Our Station is a 'Transport Interchange' with Mainline Rail, National Coach & Local Bus services. It's near the town centre and makes St Austell  a great place to stay for touring the area without a car.
